home and garden. Her presentation offers a glimpse of the history of renowned land artists like Christo, Goldsworthy and other artists who use natural materials on a grand scale
to transform landscapes.

JOHN MAWURNDUL, ARTIST, HISTORIAN, KEEPER OF TRADITIONS
John Mawurndjul, b. 1952, is an Australian Aboriginal bark artist who has been described as “not simply Australia’s premier bark painter but one of our greatest artists of all time.”
He grew up in a traditional world and lives in Arnhem Land in Northern Australia, but travels the world exhibiting his art and proudly sharing his people’s stories.
We will look at his world and his art and try to understand why he says of himself “I am the old and the new.”
